Privacy policy
We collect as little as we can, use it only to help you plan and build your ADU, and never sell it.

What we collect
- When you join our list: your first name, email address, the ZIP code of the property you’re planning for, and what you’re planning (for example, a home for a parent or a rental).
- When you buy a guide: payment is handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email address, billing location and what you bought — never your full card number.
- When you email us: whatever you choose to send, such as a property address and photos for your feasibility read.
- Basic technical information: like any website, our servers log requests (such as pages visited and browser type) to keep the site running and secure. If we use analytics, we use privacy-focused tools that don’t follow you across other websites.
Your guide answers stay with you. What you type into a guide’s worksheets and calculators is saved only in your own browser, on your device. We never receive it.
How we use it
- To deliver the guides you buy and the free resources you ask for.
- To send planning advice by email — you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To answer your questions, provide your feasibility read, and handle refunds.
- To understand which regions and topics people are interested in, so we write what’s most useful.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that run the site on our behalf — hosting, payments (Stripe), email (Google Workspace and our email delivery service), and our secure contact list. They may use your information only to provide those services to us.
- A builder, only if you ask. If you ask us to connect you with a builder — for example after your feasibility read — we share your details with that builder. Where our affiliated design-build company, Origin ADU, works, that may be Origin ADU.
- When required by law, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising.
Cookies
We don’t use advertising cookies. The site uses only what it needs to work, and your browser’s local storage to save your guide answers on your device.
How long we keep it
We keep purchase records as long as required for tax and accounting. We keep list sign-ups until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe using the link in any email, or by replying to it.
- See, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing hello@aduinsights.com. We’ll respond within 30 days.
Security
We use established providers, encrypted connections, and private, signed links for purchased guides. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect to limit what could ever be exposed.
Children
The site isn’t directed to children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this page and its date — and for any significant change, we’ll tell our list by email first.
